Do you like the color of orange? If you do, then kampai (cheers) to that! I like color orange and my eyes were glowing when we visited the Fushimi Inari-Taisha shrine. These thousands of Torii Gates (Senbon Torii) will amaze you while reaching the top of the shrine.
But hey! this is a well-known and famous tourist destination in Kyoto, Japan. So... what would you expect? A lot of gaijins, like you, wandering around. :)) And, if you are looking into having an awesome solo picture with these Torri Gates, plan your visit and be there before the sunrise so you have 'enough' time to pose with these gates. ;)
The place is located just outside JR Inari Station, the second station from Kyoto Station along the JR Nara Line.
Fushimi Inari Shrine is an important Shinto shrine in southern Kyoto, dedicated to Inari, the Shinto god of rice. From the shrine’s entrance, you will notice many fox statues. Foxes are thought to be Inari’s messengers.
The shrine's fountain. I highly recommend not to drink the water just like what was mentioned in Asakusa's purification fountain.
The welcoming thousands of Torii gates (Senbon Torii).
Your feet will get tired when you reach the top. But do not worry, there are satisfying freshly cooked Japanese foods near the exit of the Shrine.
If you visit Kyoto, never miss the Fushimi Inari-Taisha shrine!
