Aomori Prefecture: Hirosaki Park – Cherry Blossoms Season

Hirosaki Park is located in Hirosaki city, Aomori, Japan. The place is one of the top recognized and best places during the cherry blossom season. In fact, it is one of the largest-scaled cherry blossoms in Japan. Every year, before April ends, Aomori prefecture turns into a pinkish world of cherry blossoms trees.

Hirosaki Park has over 2600 sakura trees of different variety and it offers pleasant picnic areas, cherry blossom tunnel, flower carpet (petals covering the surface of the water), and a festival that held annually from late April to early May.

Here's an amazing scene where the entire water surface is covered by thousands of sakura petals.

There are many things to see within Hirosaki Park. You can see the Hirosaki Castle which is the only remaining castle built during the Edo era in Tohoku Area, walk around the place and take a picturesque scene of cherry blossoms, or enjoy the park's festival.

Another event we had enjoyed is the Hirosaki Park Festival which happens every year during the cherry blossoms season. Lots of Japanese food to try as you walk around the place.

If you visit the place, I highly recommend trying Japanese food that you have not tried nor tasted before. It will be a memorable food experience.

We tried tasting the food below and from my taste bud's understanding, it feels like you are eating warm gelatin in shrimp flavor. :D

And of course, Yakisoba and Japanese chicken barbecue are still the winners.
