Kamakura Daibutsu (Great Buddha, KÅtoku-in) is the second largest monumental Buddha (bronze statue of Amida Buddha) in Japan, located in the City of Kamakura in Kanagawa Prefecture, Japan. This is also one of Japan's UNESCO World Heritage Sites.
To get there, go to Kamakura JR station. There are different ways on how to get there. If you have JR Pass, I recommend to use Hyperdia (a Timetable and Route Search in Japan). Hyperdia will give you the best and effective route based on your preference, it also includes train schedules and the time it will take to reach the destination. From Kamakura JR station, ride a bus which will drop you at the entrance gate.
The position of Daibutsu reminds me of the mechanical Buddha in the old Japanese series Hikari Sentai Maskman. Ultimately, I will not forget this place as this is my first UNESCO World Heritage Site travel experience.
