Hitsujiyama Park is a park located in Chichibu, Saitama, Japan, famous for its field covered with Shibazakura that blooms around late April to early May. However, it was an unfortunate day for us because most of the fields are not covered by Shibazakura, though it was early May of the year 2018. The experience was not the same as what you see when you search online for Hitsujiyama Park images. Traveling to Hitsujiyama Park is a long trip especially when using public transportation. That being said, ensure that you plan it well based on accurate Shibazakura Forecast.
I guess the place would be much worth it if you get the right timing along with the best weather. But still, it was an acceptable trip because there is a field that is still covered with Shibazakura. :))
From Seibu-Chichibu Station, we had to take a 30-minute walk or less to reach the park. That gave us the opportunity to see the local houses in Chichibu, Saitama.
Here's a short video clip while we were on our way to the park.
There were food stations at the entrance of the park where you can enjoy festival treats like Yakisoba, Dango (sticky rice balls on skewers), and Miso-covered potato which is Chichibu's specialty.
