Miyajima is a small island located outside the city of Hiroshima, you need to ride a ferry to get there. The island is famous for its Floating Torii Gate. Miyajima means ‘Shrine Island’ and it is also called Itsukushima due to its famous Itsukushima Shrine that is built over water as well.

Aside from its Famous Shrine and Floating Torii Gate, Miyajima Island also has tame deer, like in Nara Park, that wander around with the tourists. You may also enjoy Japanese street foods and souvenir shopping in Omotesando Street, which is the main shopping area.
