Akihabara also known as ‘Akiba’ is a huge electronic district and home to Otaku culture. Otaku is a Japanese term for people with obsessive interests, particularly in anime and manga. This is the best place to experience underground culture of Japan and shop for high-tech gadgets. The place is so lively with full of lights and big anime billboards as you walk around the Akiba area.
Searching Akihabara in the internet will give a lot of search results so I leave that up to you. Most of it are about things you can do, or I would say ‘a must’ when in Akihabara which are not limited to shopping in Yodobashi Akiba, Maid Café, Anime figures, Manga shops, Gaming Adventures, Ramen, and more.
When in Tokyo, to get there ride the JR Yamanote line or Tsukuba Express line then stop by at Akihabara station.
I found my first Perfect Grade GAT-X105 Strike Gundam for 10990 Japanese yen in Yodobashi Akiba.
Some of the pictures I have while in Akihabara.
