The Shosei-en Garden is just a 12-minute walk or less from Kyoto Station. I did not expect that a garden such as this exists within the busy area of Kyoto (Japan has full of surprises). The garden is a known spot for photoshoots and we got the chance to try the Kimono Experience with the service of Yumeyakata, the biggest and popular Kimono Rentals in Kyoto.
Yumeyakata kimonos are authentic and they have wide selections of style and color. I searched for one that matches Himura Kenshin Kimono style (hoping that I could fine one, haha). Look what I've got, the color somehow matches Himura's but the style is a bit different. :))
Staff of Yumeyakata will assist you on wearing your kimono. All you need to do is stand in front of the mirror, raise your arms 90 degrees, then they will take care of everything until the Kimono fits you perfectly.
It was raining hard in Kyoto, so we had no choice but to bring those extraordinary umbrellas. :))
The Kimono Experience is a unique experience and worth a try. It is not everyday that your wear kimono, right? :)) Sharing you our Kimono Experience!
